Paraphlomis wui (Lamiaceae), a new species from Chongqing, China
摘要
Paraphlomis wui, a new species from the limestone region of southeastern Chongqing, China, is described and illustrated. Molecular phylogenetic analyses, based on two nuclear ribosomal DNA regions (ITS and ETS) and 80 protein-coding sequences from plastomes, reveal that P. wui is sister to P. kuankuoshuiensis, and the two species together form a clade sister to P. youyangensis. Despite the geographic proximity of these three species, P. wui is morphologically distinct from both P. kuankuoshuiensis and P. youyangensis in terms of habit, as well as leaf, calyx and corolla morphology. The new species is most similar to P. longicalyx but can be distinguished by its abaxially glabrous laminae, sparsely strigose calyces with triangular teeth, glabrous corolla tubes, and lower corolla lips without spots.
