<p>This study resolves the long-standing nomenclatural confusion of the name <i>Popowia ramosissima</i> Bedd. Through a comprehensive examination of the species publication history, typification and relationships, we demonstrate that <i>P. ramosissima</i> Bedd. is not a name. Instead, Beddome’s misidentified specimens represent a distinct species, <i>P. beddomeana</i> Hook.f. &amp; Thomson, which was validly described as a new species by Hooker &amp; Thomson in 1872.</p>

摘要

This study resolves the long-standing nomenclatural confusion of the name Popowia ramosissima Bedd. Through a comprehensive examination of the species publication history, typification and relationships, we demonstrate that P. ramosissima Bedd. is not a name. Instead, Beddome’s misidentified specimens represent a distinct species, P. beddomeana Hook.f. & Thomson, which was validly described as a new species by Hooker & Thomson in 1872.
