摘要

A hybrid composite was developed using Acacia Arabica and Ricinus communis fibers. To find out the best property of the hybrid composite material, three different ratios of fiber and resin are selected: 60:40, 65:35, and 70:30, in which the maximum weighs the resin and the minimum weighs the fiber. Three samples were made from untreated fibers and three samples were made from chemically treated fibers. Different tests such as tensile test, flexural test, impact test, hardness test, interlaminar shear test, scanning electron microscopy analysis (SEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) and water absorption test were carried out. After conducting all the tests on each of the six samples, the best sample was selected based on the experimental results. The sample exhibited the greatest tensile strength of 412.049 MPa and Young’s modulus of 31.89 GPa, a flexural strength of 180 MPa and a flexural modulus of 82.47 GPa, an impact strength of 52 kJ/m2, a water absorption percentage of 5.62% and an interlaminar shear strength of 7.434 MPa. The final application of the automobile dashboard is done as per the best sample’s specification.
