<p>This work addresses a problem related to the one-dimensional system in the linear isothermal theory of swelling porous elastic soils under the influence of a fractional delay mechanism. Using classical semigroup theory, we prove the existence of a global solution under a smallness condition on the fractional delay. Furthermore, we apply the energy method without assuming equal wave speed propagation to demonstrate exponential stability.</p>
