Effect of mold runner channel and injection speed on the tear strength of liquid silicone rubber
摘要
In this study, the curing reaction according to the shape of the mold runner and the difference in injection speed was analyzed, and the effect of non-uniform curing on the tear strength of liquid silicone rubber (LSR) parts was compared. A mold with three different runner designs was manufactured and the effect on the curing imbalance was evaluated through mold flow simulation. The tear strength of the specimen injected through the mold was measured using a universal testing machine (UTM), and the effect of the runner shape and injection speed was analyzed. As a result of the study, both the runner design and injection speed have a significant effect on the melt flow balance, which was evaluated to have a crucial effect on the degree of curing imbalance and the final tear strength of the LSR product.
