Tooth surface design of double-pressure-angle helical face gear considering non-orthogonality, offset, and modification
摘要
This paper presents a new type of non-orthogonal offset modified double-pressure-angle helical (NOMDPAH) face gear transmission. Using gear meshing principle, the equations for the tooth surfaces of the NOMDPAH face gear are derived, and a solid model of the gear pair is created. According to the limiting conditions of NOMDPAH face gear with undercutting and tooth tip sharpening, the effective tooth width of the face gear were designed. The impact of the shaft angle, modification coefficient, offset distance, helix angle, pressure angle, modulus, and the number of teeth of the gear shaper cutter was examined in relation to the inner radius, outer radius, and tooth width. Results show that the effective tooth width increases with higher active side pressure angle, modification coefficient, gear modulus, and number of teeth of the shaper cutter. The effective tooth width initially decreases and then increases with greater offset distance and shaft angle. The helix angle’s impact on effective tooth width varies with different pressure angles.
