<p>In this paper, we present a difference finite element method based on the Nitsche-type stabilization for the three-dimensional steady-state Stokes–Stokes model. The proposed difference finite element method is constructed by combining a finite difference discretization in <i>z</i>-direction and a mixed finite element discretization in (<i>x</i>, <i>y</i>)-plane with the Nitsche-type stabilized term. Moreover, we show stability of the proposed numerical algorithm and error estimate of the corresponding difference finite element solution. Computational experiments are implemented to test the theoretical analysis and clarify the effectiveness of the proposed numerical algorithm.</p>

In this paper, we present a difference finite element method based on the Nitsche-type stabilization for the three-dimensional steady-state Stokes–Stokes model.
