A study on an efficient method based on the mixed finite element scheme for solving a fourth-order time-fractional model involving the Riesz space-fractional derivative of distributed order along with a stability analysis

The main goal of this paper is to introduce a fourth-order time-fractional model involving the distributed order Riesz space fractional operator. To obtain the approximate solutions of this model, we use an efficient numerical approach based on the mixed finite element. Also, to solve this proposed model, we add a new variable which is named auxiliary variable to solve the proposed model. By adding this new variable turns the proposed model into the coupled system. Stability analysis for the proposed method is discussed. To confirm the proposed method, two numerical examples are shown along with the implementation.
