<p>Playgrounds Play a Crucial Role in Cities as They Provide Space for Children To Play outside. This Role Is Particularly Important nowadays, as Urban Children Spend Most of their time indoors. However, It Is Important To Ensure some Aspects for the Playground To Be Effective. For example, It Must Be Adequately Distanced from Children’s homes, Be of an Appropriate Size and Have Equipment Suitable for the Child’s Age group, and Cover the Different Areas of Child development, Such as Motor coordination, Social interaction, creativity/imagination and Cognitive skills. This Work Analysed all the Public Playgrounds in 10 Cities. Inequalities in Access To Playgrounds Were observed, as Well as that Playgrounds with an Area Between 100 and 400&#xa0;m² Are the Most Common in all the Cities, Which Is insufficient. A Lack of Diversity of Equipment Was Also detected, as Well as a Lack of Specialized Equipment for Cognitive development, Imagination and creativity. The Playgrounds Studied Are not inclusive, as They Lack Equipment and are not adapted for children with physical disabilities and for toddlers/babies. It is also necessary to include equipment for blind children and build more and larger playgrounds, since their coverage does not meet the recommendations. Furthermore, it is urgent to define a methodology and guidelines so that decision-makers can monitor the evolution of playgrounds over time and the effectiveness of the measures adopted. It is also important to include in the process professionals specialized in playground planning, such as landscape architects, so that better and more effective playgrounds can be built.</p>
