摘要

In October 2025 the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) published its new resuscitation guidelines. The short version of these guidelines has been translated into the German language by the German Resuscitation Council (GRC). The aim of the guidelines is to sustainably improve survival rates after cardiac arrest through structured and evidence-based care systems. Furthermore, the update also emphasizes changes in the chapter on Post-resuscitation Care, particularly with respect to temperature management, prognostication of neurological outcome, rehabilitation/aftercare and an intensive investigation of unexplained cardiac arrests. The chapter on systems saving lives emphasizes the importance of training everyone in resuscitation techniques, particularly schoolchildren and students.
