<p>In interventional cardiology medical specialist assistants, nursing personnel, surgical technical assistance personnel and medical technologists support physicians in their daily work. Interventional cardiology has developed enormously over the last 20&#xa0;years. More diverse, highly complex specialized diagnostic and interventional treatment procedures require increasingly better trained medical and non-medical personnel. The continuing education curriculum for cardiological specialist assistance for interventional cardiology extends the basic curriculum for cardiological specialist assistance and was designed to optimize the training of this professional group and thereby substantially strengthen their competences in interventional cardiology.</p>
