摘要

This study draws on the transactional model of stress and coping to examine the relationship between performance pressure and unethical pro-organizational behavior (UPB) among temporary workers in the art and music training labor market in China. Specifically, it explores how individual personality traits and cognitive processes mediate and moderate this relationship. It adopted a time-lagged survey design involving 312 temporary employees in the art and music training sector in Southern China. We found that performance pressure is positively associated with UPB among temporary workers, with moral disengagement mediating this relationship. Moreover, Machiavellianism moderates the indirect association between performance pressure and UPB through moral disengagement. This study contributes to the transactional model of stress and coping, as well as managerial interventions for mitigating employees’ unethical behaviors.
