<p>The Body Image in Pregnancy Scale (BIPS) is a scale developed and validated for Australian pregnant women to assess body satisfaction during pregnancy, but there are issues with its factorial structure. The present study aimed to assess the validity and reliability of the BIPS when applied to Brazilian pregnant women. A non-probabilistic sample of 432 pregnant women was used to confirm the factor structure of the BIPS using confirmatory factor analysis, based on several goodness-of-fit indexes (i.e., the chi-square test corrected for degrees of freedom (χ<sup>2</sup>/df), Comparative Fit Index (CFI), Tucker-Lewis Index (TLI), Root Mean Square Error Approximation (RMSEA) and Standardized Root Mean Square Residual (SRMR)). Convergent validity was assessed via relationship between BIPS and correlated constructs and by the average variance extracted (AVE). Discriminant validity was estimated by comparing the square root of the AVE of each construct. McDonald’s omega coefficient was used to estimate the reliability. The BIPS showed an adequate factorial fit (χ<sup>2</sup>/df = 1.98; CFI = 0.97; TLI = 0.97; RMSEA = 0.045 [90% CI = 0.041–0.050]; SRMR = 0.063). BIPS scores were associated with body self-acceptance (<i>r</i> = −0.10– −0.61, <i>p</i> &lt; 0.05) and self-esteem (<i>r</i> = −0.14– −0.42, <i>p</i> &lt; 0.01). AVE and comparison of the square root of the AVE of each construct showed convergent and discriminant validity. Reliability was adequate (ω = 0.69–0.93). BIPS showed validity and reliability indicators. The scale could contribute to an adequate assessment of the body image of pregnant women, whether in a research, clinical or public health context.</p>
