<p>This paper explores the concept of the ephemeral city with a focus on Singapore and the experiences of its foreign domestic workers (FDWs). It investigates how daily social practices among these workers contribute to the creation of transitional spaces—both visible and tangible. The study argues that the adept navigation of public spaces is necessary for many FDWs, significantly influencing their social interactions. Utilizing a methodology centered on documenting and visually analyzing performative practices, this research aims to understand the praxis and rationale behind these ephemeral spaces. It also highlights the visibility that marginalized populations gain through their temporary reclamation of public spaces. By examining these dynamics, the paper provides valuable insights into the ways FDWs reshape urban landscapes, challenging traditional urban planning norms and enriching the social and cultural fabric of the city.</p>
