<p>Sexual self-esteem represents a critical issue in the psychology of couples and the lives of married women. When a woman’s sexual self-esteem is undermined, her life satisfaction and capacity to foster intimate relationships are significantly impaired. Insufficient understanding of individuals’ personal definitions of sexual issues results in an incomplete comprehension of sexual behaviors and issues, consequently contributing to diverse women’s challenges. Therefore, research in this area is essential, as it can advance knowledge regarding sexual matters. The study investigated the mediating role of sacrifice motive in the relationship between personality traits and sexual self-esteem among women. This study was a descriptive-correlational design of the path analysis type. Based on G*Power formula 346 married women were selected as the sample size using random sampling. The participants responded to Zeanah &amp; Schwarz’s sexual self-esteem inventory for Women, Khormaei &amp; Farmani personality traits scale, and Impett et al.’s sacrifice motives scale. We used SPSS software version 18 and AMOS for data analysis. Findings indicated significant relationships between personality traits and sacrifice motive with sexual self-esteem. Personality traits and sacrifice motive had significant direct correlations with sexual self-esteem. Specifically, extraversion, agreeableness, openness to experience, conscientiousness, and approach motive demonstrated significant positive correlations with sexual self-esteem, whereas neuroticism and avoidance motive exhibited significant negative associations with sexual self-esteem. Furthermore, personality traits had significant indirect associations with sexual self-esteem through the mediation of sacrifice motive. Extraversion, agreeableness, openness to experience, and conscientiousness, mediated by approach motive, showed significant positive correlations with sexual self-esteem. In contrast, neuroticism, mediated by approach motive, negatively influenced sexual self-esteem. Additionally, personality traits mediated by avoidance motive exhibited significant negative correlations with sexual self-esteem.</p>
