<p>The international sociological community is undergoing a significant transformation aimed at overcoming sexism in the selection of references for teaching and research. Excellent scientific literature has been published recently about this change. However, to the best of our knowledge, this is the first publication addressing a new step carried out within the framework of the last European Sociological Association Conference. A comparative analysis has been conducted between the 1998 and 2024 surveys regarding the books that had the greatest influence on the participants’ sociological work. In the 1998 survey, conducted in the context of the International Sociological Association Conference, the ten books that had most influenced the work of participating sociologists were all written by men. In contrast, in the 2024 survey, four of the top ten selected books were written by women. The aim of this study is to analyze the greater representation of women in the 2024 survey compared to the one conducted in 1998. Sociodemographic change and the greater female presence in leadership positions are reflected in increased recognition of the contributions of women sociologists.</p>
