<p>Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) is a malignant mesenchymal neoplasm showing smooth muscle differentiation. Primary LMS of the thyroid gland is quite rare, accounting for only 0.014% of cases. We report a case of a leiomyosarcoma arising in the right thyroid lobe of a 43-year-old man with complete remission following surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy.</p>
