Knowledge, Attitude and Practices on Noise Induced Hearing Loss among Factory Workers

This study aimed to evaluate the knowledge, attitudes and practices of textile factory workers regarding noise-induced hearing loss through a scale. In this study, 212 individuals, between the ages of 18 and 45, who were randomly selected from five factories and who had been working in the factory for at least 1 year, were included. The Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices scale was applied to the individuals included in the study. Total scores were calculated for each area of the Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices. Scores above 75% was defined as good knowledge, positive attitude and good practice. The average of correct answers in the Knowledge subscale was 64.70%. The total score of the attitude sub-dimension is 59.75%. The total score of the practice sub-dimension is 58.04%. The results of our study draw attention to the lack of knowledge, negative attitude, poor practice results regarding noise-induced hearing loss.
