A Rare Cause of Inferior Turbinate Mass: Intraosseous Hemangioma
摘要
Intraosseous Hemangioma are rare bone neoplasms most commonly observed in vertebral column and skull. Their occurrence within sinonasal region is extremely rare. We discussed a case of 53-year-old male who presented to our hospital with history of nasal obstruction and recent-onset recurrent epistaxis. Diagnostic nasal endoscopy revealed a bony nasal mass originating from right inferior turbinate obstructing the nasal cavity. Computed tomography demonstrated an enhancing lesion with internal matrix of bony trabeculations/honeycomb appearance. The mass was successfully resected using a trans-nasal endoscopic approach with minimal intraoperative blood loss. Histopathological examination showed dilated vascular spaces interwoven within the bony architecture, consistent with intraosseous cavernous Hemangioma. Intraosseous hemangiomas of nasal turbinates are rare benign vascular lesion that should be considered in broad differential diagnosis of nasal masses.
