<p>Cleft lip and cleft palate are common congenital defects that affect facial structures, significantly impacting a child’s appearance, speech, feeding, and overall well-being. Traditionally managed through surgical techniques and therapies, recent advancements in materials science have introduced stimuli-responsive materials, also known as smart materials. These materials can change their physical or chemical properties in response to external stimuli like temperature, pH, light, or moisture, offering enhanced support and stability for surgical repairs, promoting healing, and aiding in rehabilitation with a more personalized approach. This systematic review examines the application of these materials in sutures, wound closure, support structures, dental implants, prostheses, orthodontic appliances, and speech therapy devices. By reviewing current literature, the review assesses their efficacy, safety, and benefits, aiming to provide insights into how these materials can improve treatment outcomes and the quality of life for individuals with cleft lip and cleft palate.</p>
