<p>The intranasal Schirmer test is utilized to objectively assess nasal secretion and humidity levels. This study aimed to investigate the influence of nasal septal deviation on these parameters by comparing Schirmer test results between patients with septal deviation and healthy volunteers. Nasal septal deviation, a common anatomical variant, can disrupt nasal airflow dynamics and potentially alter nasal secretion and humidity levels. The intranasal Schirmer test provides a quantitative approach to analyze these changes objectively. Eighty four patients diagnosed with nasal septum deviation and an equal number of asymptomatic healthy volunteers were enrolled in the study. The intranasal Schirmer test was performed bilaterally to measure secretion and humidity levels in all participants. The study observed that Schirmer test values on the convex (deviated) side were lower than those on the concave (non-deviated) side, 18.85 ± 6.97 on right and 19.84 ± 7.54 on left. This difference was statistical significant (<i>p</i> &lt; 0.05). There was statistically significant difference in Schirmer test outcomes between patients with septal deviation and healthy volunteers (<i>p</i> &lt; 0.05). Statistically significant results in majority of patients showed reduced Schirmer test values on the deviated side compared to the contralateral side, suggesting a potential adverse impact of nasal septal deviation on nasal humidity regulation. Further studies with larger sample sizes are warranted to validate these findings.</p>
