Cavernous Hemangioma of the Maxillary Sinus Presenting as a Rare Sinonasal Mass
摘要
Cavernous hemangiomas in the sinonasal region are extremely rare and can be challenging to diagnose due to their overlapping clinical and imaging features with other sinonasal masses. We present a unique case of a 15 year-old male with a longstanding right nasal mass, diagnosed as cavernous hemangioma in the maxillary sinus. This case report emphasizes the critical role of comprehensive imaging and histopathologic evaluation in differentiating cavernous hemangiomas from other vascular and inflammatory sinonasal lesions. Successful management required multiple surgical interventions culminating in definitive excision through a transmaxillary approach. This case highlights both the challenges and the strategies essential for effective treatment of rare sinonasal vascular tumors.
