<p>Aim: A few mobile phone users have reported difficulty understanding speech. The study investigated the relationship between mobile phone use, hearing ability, temporal processing, and speech perception skills. Method: A total of 55 participants aged 18–25 years who have used mobile phones specifically to voice calls for over an hour daily and above for 3–9 years were included. The participants were grouped based on number of hours and years of phone usage. Each participant underwent audiological tests, including pure tone audiometry (250&#xa0;Hz-16&#xa0;kHz), temporal fine structure test, temporal modulation transfer function, and speech perception in noise was performed on each participant. Additionally, the participants completed the Speech, Spatial, and Qualities of Hearing (SSQ) questionnaire. Result: The results found no significant correlation between years or hours of phone usage and hearing thresholds across frequencies, psychoacoustic measures, speech perception in noise, or SSQ. Additionally, no significant effect of phone usage was observed on these tests between the groups. Conclusion: Intermittent mobile phone usage does not substantially affect hearing or auditory functions.</p>
