<p>This article deals with the decision-making processes surrounding the issue of medication in inpatient child and youth welfare services. Using empirical data from the MEDIJU project (Medication in Child and Youth Welfare), interviews with educational professionals in residential child and youth welfare, youth welfare offices, foster care services, foster families, medical professionals, and guardians are interpreted using metaphor analysis, and the reconstructed concepts are presented. This article focuses on the concepts of LOOKING and TALKING WITH and discusses the question of the importance of listening and hearing.</p>
