<p>In light of the necessity for a&#xa0;professional approach to issues of poverty within the field of social work, the present article analyses the public debate within social media using the hashtag #IAmAffectedByPoverty (#IchBinArmutsbetroffen). The articulations facilitate access to the lived experiences of (potential) users of social work and also provide indications regarding the development of voice under conditions of poverty.</p>
