<p>Child protection work in women’s shelters is characterised by structural challenges for professionals. These include cooperation with youth welfare offices, contradictory legal regulations in the areas of protection against violence and custody and access rights, as well as the lack of funding for women’s shelters in Germany. A&#xa0;change in the situation only seems possible through changes in the law and co-operation between women’s protection, child protection and political actors.</p>
