A critical review of these emerging technologies is essential to enable their thoughtful and timely adoption by institutions and to enhance transplant outcomes.</p> Recent Findings <p>Heart transplantation using DCD donors demonstrates post-transplant survival and graft function outcomes comparable to those of DBD donors. However, nuances in donor procurement techniques and organ preservation strategies remain critical determinants in optimizing transplantation success.</p> Summary <p>There are now multiple strategies available for heart donation, necessitating a stepwise, structured approach to decision-making.
