<p>This contribution recounts and reflects upon a series of Shared Reading sessions the author participated in at the city prison of Ghent, Belgium. It pays specific attention to the lived experiences of the participating inmates, to some of the texts chosen during those sessions and further tries to relate these findings to prior contributions on the method of Shared Reading.</p>
