The evaluation of mangrove height changes through field studies due to harsh environmental conditions and high density of vegetation is very difficult and costly. The aim of this research is to evaluate the potential of Sentinel 1 Level-1 Single Look Complex (SLC) satellite images and Synthetic Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) technique to evaluate the changes in the height of mangrove forests from 2015 to 2021 in Qeshm Island. The results indicate that the height of mangrove forests has increased by an average of about 26.19 cm and the maximum increase in the height of this forest reaches 57.88 cm in some areas. However, the trend of mangrove height changes has not always been increasing and from 2017 to 2018, the height of mangroves has decreased by about 19 cm compared to the 2016-2017-time period. However, from May 2018 to May 2019, the height of mangroves has increased by about 17 cm. The decreasing and increasing trends of mangrove forest height and area are also directly linked, and in the years with increasing height, their area has also increased and vice versa. Evaluation of daily temperature data indicated that one reason for the decrease and increase in the height as well as the area of mangroves is severe temperature changes. 摘要

Measuring the structural characteristics of mangrove forests is very important from the perspective of monitoring, reporting and verification protocols in natural resource management. The height as well as the area of mangrove changes during a period can be considered as an indicator of plant health. Besides the hottest and coldest seasons between May 2017 and May 2018 can be important factor in reducing the height and area of mangroves.
