<p>Public–private partnerships (PPPs) are relationships between two agents: public administration and a private entity. The public side of this relationship may be represented by public institutions such as universities, hospitals, and local town halls. Conversely, the private side may be represented by a profit-seeking company or an entity from the social economy. The scope of this study centers specifically on social economy entities within the framework of PPPs. A bibliometric analysis based on data from the Web of Science Core Collection reveals the state of the art of research on these two fields (PPPs and the social economy) in conjunction. Analyzing these two different fields provides insight into the characteristics and dynamics of PPPs when the private side is represented by an institution from the social economy. The clusters resulting from the bibliometric analysis reveal the linkages among the topics related to both fields of study.</p>
