Occupational Health is a key pillar of employment; access to occupational health services in Ireland has been low historically and worsening in more recent years. With an ageing population beckoning, the need for Ireland to recognise its deficits and work on tackling this health inequity has never been greater. Comparisons to EU counterparts can provide a path to improvement by learning lessons from countries who have taken significant steps to tackle this health inequity.
