<p>This paper takes the dialectical relationship between art and philosophy as an entry point for a systematic reconstruction of early Schelling’s philosophy of art. Firstly, from philosophy to art, art as an external corroboration of the form of philosophical reflection is the organ of philosophy. Art intuits the Absolute in a way that is impossible for philosophy, thus confirming the rationality of the existence of the latter. Secondly, from art to philosophy, the inner isomorphism between art and philosophy is uncovered, the beauty of art and the truth of philosophy share the same ideal of the soul, and the truth of the ideal penetrates both of them in the same way. Finally, philosophy and art united in mythology, and philosophy uses art as a method of its construction, which not only includes the construction of the timeless art itself, but also the history of art. Schelling’s characteristic new mythology is his political action programme for the future human society, which embodies the perfect fusion of the present and the future, freedom and necessity, and is also the foothold and goal of the whole construction.</p>
