<p>The architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry has adopted emerging technologies, particularly Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodology, which has the potential to enhance project management through the utilization of comprehensive virtual models. Virtual reality (VR) facilitates enhanced visualization and interaction with these models. This research focused on evaluating the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Reality (VR), identifying trends, predominant approaches, and current limitations. The methodological development phase entailed a systematic search of relevant studies on BIM-VR integration in specialized databases, employing specific criteria to identify relevant research. The findings indicate that both technologies are becoming increasingly integrated, exhibiting advantages, such as enhanced visual perception, improved communication across diverse domains, and enhanced project management. However, challenges related to the interoperability and standardization of processes persist. The integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Reality (VR) holds considerable promise for the future AEC sector. Further research is necessary to address these issues and develop more robust and unified methods.</p>
