Multi-modal MPPT Control Strategy Under PSC in DC Microgrids: Review, Classification and Future Development Outlook
摘要
In a DC microgrid system, the output P-V curve of the photovoltaic (PV) array is characterized by strong nonlinearity with multiple peaks when subjected to partial shading conditions (PSC), where the shading patterns are influenced by external environmental variations including solar irradiance and temperature fluctuations. To improve the performance of a PV power supply, it is critical to establish real-time tracking of its peak output power. However, existing research efforts on PV maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control schemes are predominantly focused on uniform irradiance conditions, whereas systematic analyses under non-uniform irradiance scenarios remain significantly underrepresented in the literature. This study describes in detail the common multi-peak MPPT algorithms for PV arrays under PSC, explores their underlying theories, and comparatively analyzes their positive and negative aspects. It also reviews the state of MPPT research both domestically and internationally. Next, a discussion and summary of the issues raised by the current research are provided. Lastly, a forecast is provided for the future development trend of MPPT technology. The concepts presented in the paper are expected to promote the development and application of MPPT algorithms under PSC.
