Several Common Problems in the Design of Meta-heuristic Algorithms
摘要
This paper explores the innovation and scientific rigor in the design of meta-heuristic algorithms (MHAs), pointing out that many so-called new algorithms are intrinsically improvements or repackaging of existing algorithms rather than being truly original. This phenomenon raises questions about the scientific rigor of the field of MHAs, as more and more algorithm designs rely on metaphors of natural phenomena rather than real theoretical innovations. We proposed several issues in meta-heuristic algorithmic design, which may have some inspiration for future algorithmic design.
