Klimawandel in einer langen Traumserie von 1984 bis 2019
摘要
Climate change is a hotly debated topic worldwide. One question that arises is how strongly does climate change impact people’s psychological wellbeing. One possible approach is to analyze dreams, as it is assumed that waking life influences dreams, the so-called continuity hypothesis. In the analyzed dream series of 14,520 recorded between 1984 and 2019, there was a decrease in dreams with snow/ice/hail, reflecting the observed decrease in “ice days” in Germany. Similar to the studies on the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic or the war in Ukraine, studying dreams can provide information on the extent to which people are affected by these events.
