摘要

Fatigue is often the main symptom of post-COVID syndrome (PCS). In addition to underlying illnesses such as depression, undiagnosed and therefore untreated sleep disorders can also affect the quality of life of patients with PCS. Those affected may suffer from insomnia, hypersomnia, restless legs syndrome (RLS), and sleep-related breathing disorders (SRBD). The pathophysiology of sleep disorders in PCS is complex and involves different mechanisms. A detailed sleep-specific medical history and, if necessary, device-based diagnostic tests (actigraphy/polygraphy/polysomnography) are recommended for diagnosis. Treatment is based on the respective symptoms in accordance with the relevant (non-PCS-specific) guidelines (e.g., SRBD, RLS), with the aim of improving the symptom burden and quality of life of PCS patients in the long term.
