摘要

Acquiring low-frequency seismic data using vibroseis techniques has become a routine operation in land seismic survey. Successful low-frequency vibroseis acquisition requires vibroseis source technology to have significant improvements in two aspects: (1) the seismic vibrator mechanical and hydraulic systems that are capable of maximally generating and transmitting the vibrator ground force; (2) the seismic vibrator control electronics that can greatly minimize the harmonic distortion noise of the vibrator ground force, particularly at low frequencies. With these understandings, a new generation low frequency seismic vibrator is designed. Field tests have demonstrated that this new generation low frequency vibrator produces and transmits a noticeable low frequency energy as low as 1.5 Hz. In addition, the vibrator controller embedded with harmonic distortion reduction (HDR) control features reduces the harmonic distortion noise at low frequencies.
