Research on orthogonal double corrugated steel shear walls subjected to cyclic loading
摘要
Orthogonal double corrugated steel shear walls (O-DCSSWs) comprise two trapezoidal corrugated plates linked by high-strength connection bolts in the contact zones. The current investigation examines the lateral behavior of O-DCSSWs with different corrugations utilizing Abaqus, an FE program, under cyclic loading. DCSSWs (DCSSWs), vertical and horizontal (V-DCSSW and HO-DCSSW), have been considered for comparison. Results depict that O-DCSSWs enhance seismic performance compared to ordinary single- and double-CSSWs. This investigation revealed that the corrugation depth increases the maximum strength and energy dissipation in the O-DCSSWs. In addition, the layout of connecting bolts notably affects the performance of O-DCSSWs. Other results showed that when orthogonal double corrugated plates are densely connected via bolts, their seismic performance improves relative to matching samples with double-spaced bolts and no bolts.
