摘要

Sexual offenses committed by women are a rare subject of public and societal discourse. In recent years, relevant research has focused primarily on attempting to describe typologies of female sex offenders. In order to contribute to improving therapy-relevant and prognosis-relevant knowledge about incarcerated female sex offenders, sociodemographic and psychopathological characteristics of all female sex offenders incarcerated in German prisons were collected as of 30 September 2023. The questionnaire included items about the circumstances of the crimes, the characteristics of the victims and the motives of the offenders. The findings allowed us to derive a number of recommendations that are relevant for diagnosis and treatment, such as the prevalence of pedophilia or sexually deviant preferences, power-related and dominance-related motives for the crimes and guilt-reducing cognitions of the offenders who see themselves as victims.
