<p>Many plants introduced through horticulture to new regions of the world pose a threat to native biodiversity if they escape cultivation and become invasive. <i>Tellima grandiflora</i> (<i>Saxifragaceae</i>), a perennial herb native to western North America, is cultivated as an ornamental plant. In many European countries, its spontaneous escape from gardens, as well as its establishment in semi-ruderal and ruderal habitats, has been recorded. In this paper, the first Polish record of <i>T</i>. <i>grandiflora</i> is presented. It was discovered growing in a shady and moist deciduous forest in the Wolski Forest, Kraków, southern Poland, in May 2025. Most likely, it was introduced by illegal garden waste disposal. Currently, it should be treated as a casual alien species; however, its naturalization is very likely due to favorable climatic and habitat conditions. Because it tends to form compact, monotypic patches on the forest floor, thereby reducing the growth and cover of other plants, its spread requires monitoring.</p>
