<p>The main aim of this article is to characterize plant communities with the presence of the endangered species <i>Viola jooi</i> and to provide their syntaxonomy. To achieve this aim, we collected 95 relevés, including data extracted from the European Vegetation Archive (Romania) and our unpublished data (Ukraine). We performed a cluster analysis using the TWINSPAN algorithm to classify <i>V. jooi</i> communities. As a result, we identified five associations: <i>Ranunculo zapalowiczii-Helictotrichetum desertori, Asperulo capitatae-Seslerietum rigidae, Violo jooi-Stipetum eriocaulis</i>, <i>Thymo comosi-Caricetum humilis</i>, <i>Helictotrichetum decori</i>. Furthermore, we assessed ecological differences among associations using EIVE 1.0 scales. We concluded that the most critical environmental factors are moisture, soil reaction and light. Additionally, we evaluated the ecological strategies of taxa occurring alongside <i>V. jooi</i> and found that the predominant strategy across all species involving <i>V. jooi</i> is competitive (C), ranging from 53.2% to 74.6%, with a lower presence of stress-tolerant species (19.7–41.6%). Generally, <i>V. jooi</i> communities are characterized as vulnerable with a narrow ecological amplitude. Finally, we assessed the population parameters and threats to the existence of <i>V. jooi</i> in Ukraine, considering the main anthropogenic impacts (e.g., mining, recreation and afforestation). Our findings have practical implications for conservation efforts, and we propose a detailed management plan to conserve <i>V. jooi</i> populations.</p>
