摘要

In this study, we investigated the chromosome numbers and karyotypes of six Oenanthe taxa in China, namely O. hookeri, O. javanica subsp. javanica, O. javanica subsp. rosthornii, O. linearis subsp. linearis, O. linearis subsp. rivularis, and O. thomsonii subsp. stenophylla. The chromosome numbers of four taxa were reported for the first time, and the presence of B chromosomes was initially revealed in O. linearis subsp. linearis. By comparing our findings with previous studies in Oenanthe, we observed that the basic chromosome numbers in the genus were x = 9, 10, 11, and 21, with polyploidy being a rare occurrence. Additionally, we further examined the evolutionary trends associated with chromosome number, karyotype and ploidy levels in the genus of Oenanthe.
