Dual-port robot-assisted thoracic surgery using hinotori™ surgical system
摘要
Hinotori™ is a domestic robotic surgical system that received insurance coverage for thoracic surgery in 2024 and was developed at Kobe University, with approximately 80 cases of experience. The main advantages are portless and docking-free systems; however, similar to the Da Vinci, the standard multiportal technique can cause intercostal neuralgia. Therefore, with the trend toward reduced-port surgery, including uniportal robot-assisted thoracic surgery (RATS), we established a dual-port RATS (D-RATS) technique using hinotori™ combined with fusion surgery, where the console and bedside surgeons work collaboratively. The docking-free system provides ample bedside working space, facilitating easy field exposure and stapling by the assistant. D-RATS using hinotori™ with the fusion technique is feasible and offers excellent bedside surgeon operability owing to its docking-free system. Further case studies are required to clarify their clinical utility.
