摘要

Background

To present a case report of successful management of renal calculi secondary to pelviureteric junction obstruction in a case of pelvic ectopic kidney by Robot Assisted Laparoscopic Pyelolithotomy and BMG augmentation Pyeloplasty performed concomitantly and to review previous literature to see whether this is first ever case performed in such a manner.

Methods

Review of literature was performed up to date 15th sept 2025 across databases namely PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Research gate, Google Scholar using (Buccal Mucosal Graft OR BMG) AND (Pyeloplasty OR Ureteroplasty OR Ureteral Reconstruction) AND (Pelvic Ectopic Kidney OR Ectopic Kidney) AND (Robotic OR Robot Assisted) AND (Pyelolithotomy OR Stone Removal) as search terms and Boolean Operators. Only the human studies published in English were included. No time restriction was kept during the data search. Animal studies, and studies unrelated to ectopic kidney, BMG pyeloplasty and pyelolithotomy were excluded. Results were presented based on PRISMA 2020 statement.

Results

The above said procedure is safe and efficacious and is the first documented case deploying the above said combination for management of the above stated complex anatomy.

Discussion

Based on the current available knowledge, such novel combinations can be used for management of complex anatomical challenges.
