Spectrophotometric determination of Zn(II) ions using 6-bromo-4-hydroxy-3-nitrosonaphthalene-2,7-disulfonic acid
摘要
In this article, a new sensitive spectrophotometric method for the determination of Zn(II) using 6-bromo-4-hydroxy-3-nitrosonaphthalene-2,7-disulfonic acid is proposed. Optimal conditions were determined wavelength λ = 580 nm, solution pH 5.3, the amount of added reagent 1.2 mL, and stability over time was 8 h. Based on the selected optimal conditions, it was determined that the range of Beer’s law is 1.0–17.5 μg/mL, Sandell's sensitivity is 0.001 μg/cm2, and the contrast value due to the batochromic shift is Δλ = 85 nm. The reliability and reproducibility of the developed method were determined using the ‘‘added-found” method, according to which the relative standard deviation (Sr) did not exceed 1.66%, and the lower limit of determination (Qmin) was calculated to be 0.247 μg/25 mL. The developed method was successfully used to determine the content of zinc in the synthetic mixture and the ore of the Khandiza deposit, located in the Surkhandarya region of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The proposed method shows comparable or superior sensitivity, selectivity, and precision versus existing reagents and techniques, confirming its competitiveness for Zn(II) determination.
