Wolframite-type copper molybdate nanostructures: a green approach for bacterial inhibition and dye removal
摘要
Green and convenient combustion method was employed for the production of wolframite-type copper molybdate nanostructures due to its high product purity and quick reaction speed. The crystalline nature was examined through XRD and SAED, confirming the presence of anorthic phase of synthesized nanostructures. The elements present in the prepared copper molybdate nanostructures and their oxidation states were confirmed by XPS and EDS. SEM images reveals uniform rod shapes for both the nanostructures with slenderer agglomeration. The mean particle size is computed to be less than 22 nm for CuMoO4 and G-CuMoO4 nanostructures by utilizing TEM images. Subsequently, the synthesized CuMoO4 and G-CuMoO4 nanostructures were tested against photostable industrial Rhodamine B dye, achieving degradation rates of 80.17 and 86.27% respectively, within 300 min. Additionally, the preferable broad-spectrum antibacterial activity of these nanostructures against S. aureus, E. coli and P. aeruginosa pathogens was inspected.
