Cause Analysis and Improvement of Brake Branch Pipe Failure of Railway Freight Car

This paper introduces the structure and failure location of the brake branch pipe of the boxcar, then investigates the line condition of the failed boxcar and makes a physical and chemical analysis of the failure location of the branch pipe. In addition, some simulations and tests are carried out, such as strength simulation on the out-of-tolerance assembly of brake branch pipe, modal simulation, modal test, static strength tension and compression, vibration test, impact test and assembly stress test. On this basis, the optimization scheme of metal structure is proposed and verified by impact test, assembly stress test and dynamic stress test of the line. In order to completely solve the problems of stress concentration and poor assembly, a metal sheathed hose scheme was studied, and the application effect was good after mass loading.
