<p>Hypereutectic Zn-Li alloys are a kind of high-strength biodegradable Zn alloys developed in recent years. However, they exhibit significant hot-rolling brittleness. The higher rolling temperature and the larger volume fraction of the brittle blocky <i>β</i> phases result in cleavage fracture easily. After warm rolling, the alloys become very ductile with dimple fracture. Abnormally, when the volume fraction of brittle β-LiZn<sub>4</sub> phase in alloys increases from 38.9 to 61.4 vol.%, elongation only decreases by 5%. The reason is that warm rolling induces the transition of <i>β</i> block to β/Zn lamellar structure, which exhibits a high resistance to crack propagation.</p>
