Experimental Investigation on Ti–6Al–4 V Three-Beam Wire-Feed Laser Cladding with Three-Channel Local Shielding Device
摘要
A local inert gas atmosphere provides more flexible protection from oxidation than the chamber for the laser cladding of titanium alloys, and without the restriction of component size. In this study, the three-beam wire-feed laser cladding (TWLC) system, which employed the novel three-channel local shielding device to produce the local shielding atmosphere, was used to perform the Ti–6Al–4 V wire-feed laser cladding in open environment. Numerical analysis on the different gas flow rates was carried out to explore the flow characteristics and oxygen content in atmosphere. The simulation results show that the high-temperature region could be synchronously covered by the effective protective region. The corresponding results were experimentally verified, and the bright-silver cladding layers without oxidization were deposited. The influence of gas flow rates on the geometry characteristics, macrostructure, microstructure and microhardness of cladding layers were investigated.
